Lainey Wilson has lost 70lbs during her ‘year of health.’
And this weekend the country crooner showed off her newly slimmer frame as she hit an event.
The 31-year-old blonde beauty was the star of A New York Evening With Lainey Wilson event in New York City.
The party was held at National Sawdust.
Lainey performed Atta Girl, Wildflowers and Wild Horses, Heart Like A Truck and other songs from her new album Bell Bottom Country.
She is best known as a singer and one of the stars of the Kevin Costner led country drama Yellowstone.
In early 2020, she made a decision to be healthier.
Lainey managed to shed approximately 70 pounds, achieving her weight loss goals without resorting to surgical procedures.
She started working with a personal trainer and started being more active during her down time, like going on hikes instead of doing long lunches.
Wilson also took up running which is a massive fat burner.
And her diet changed – she avoided sugary drinks.
Instead of dessert she had fruit. Instead of potato chips, she had fresh vegetables.
This comes after she revealed she has been dating Devlin ‘Duck’ Hodges for more than two years.
The singer-songwriter appearing on The Bobby Bones Show, opened up about her relationship with the one-time Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, 27.
The Baskin, Louisiana native revealed the length of their romance about a month after they made their debut as a couple walking the red carpet at the 2023 Academy of Country Music Awards May 11 at the Ford Center in Frisco, Texas.
‘He’s been around for a while. I just decided to make him wait for two-and-a-half years,’ the Things a Man Oughta Know artist said.
The Heart Like a Truck singer, describing Hodges as a ‘good dude,’ said that Hodges’ background as a professional athlete complements their relationship dynamics.
‘He knows what it’s like chasing a dream because he’s done that for himself,’ Wilson said. ‘He was in the NFL. He tried out literally for the Steelers and made it and had a really great run with them. Went out to LA Rams and did that.’
Wilson, who played Abby on four episodes of Paramount Plus drama Yellowstone last year, described Hodges as ‘good as gold.’
She continued: ‘Supports me, would never come in between anything that I’m trying to do. He’s like, “Go get it, girl.” And I made him wait for a while. I mean … it’s been a little over two years now.’
Wilson opened up about an April concert she played in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania opening for Luke Combs, where she wore Steelers jersey with Hodges’ name on it, spurring speculation they were seeing one another.
‘Well, what’s funny is literally a couple weeks before the show, we had played out in Pittsburgh and me and my band, we all wore Duck Hodges jerseys,’ Wilson said. ‘And so that kind of started a few rumors.’
When the concert happened, fans took to social media to inform Hodges of the fashion statement.
He said in a response tweet, ‘Did she really?!?! Y’all are lying !!!! @laineywilson holla at me!!!’
Wilson said in response, ‘This is me hollerin,’ to which he replied, ‘OH.MY.GOD hello.’
In the interview, Wilson said that Hodges gets along well with her country music colleagues.
‘It’s so great – I mean, he’s buddies with all my buddies,’ Wilson said. ‘He’ll FaceTime me and he’ll be with HARDY or he’ll be with Cole Swindell and all of them – I’m like, “Can you please stop taking my friends?”‘
In the chat, Wilson also explained where Hodges’ nickname duck comes from.
‘His college football coach was like, “You’re one of the best quarterbacks I’ve ever worked with. And you remind me a lot of one of my favorite quarterbacks I got to work with years ago, and we called him Duck,”‘ she said. ‘And so he and the team just kind of started calling him Duck.’
